Buying fair-trade shows an appreciation of the the hardship and suffering created for many by the large corporates, manufacturers and retailers who continue to abuse and denigrate children, the poor and underprivileged all around our world in order to make a quick buck. Unfortunately, the world recession has left people feeling poorer and forced many into the greedy hands of those companies offering big discounts on clothes and shoes – but at what price, and more importantly who is paying that price? You do not need to buy an entire wardrobe of fair trade products but as Gandhi once said “You must be the change you wish to see in the world” or, as we say, ” every little bit helps” the fair trade cause.
